The Couple: A Perfect Match

Let me tell you about this incredible wedding in San Miguel de Allende, seriously, it was one for the books! First things first, the couple was simply amazing. You know when you meet someone and it feels like you’ve known them forever? That’s exactly how it felt working with Estefania and Sam. I was more like a guest than just another vendor, and that made capturing their day even more special.

The Rehearsal Dinner: Kicking Off in Style

Before the big day, we had a couple of video calls to get to know each other, and finally, we met in person at their rehearsal dinner. It was held at a beautiful airbnb that Estefania’s dad rented, it was the perfect place for the family to start the celebration. Like I’ve mentioned before, destination weddings are more than just a one day event; they’re a full-on weekend experience, and this one was no exception.

The dinner was all about delicious tacos (yes, I definitely had a few) and a surprise mariachi band that had everyone on their feet. It was the perfect start to what would be an unforgettable weekend.

The Big Day: A Blend of Cultures

Estefania, with her Mexican roots, and Sam, with his American heritage, brought two beautiful cultures together for one stunning wedding. The day kicked off with Estefania getting ready with her mom and cousins (who are just like her sisters) at a hotel right in the heart of San Miguel de Allende. When she put on her dress, she looked absolutely beautiful. Her mom couldn’t hold back the tears, definitely one of those moments that make you feel all the feels.

Meanwhile, Sam was just a few blocks away, getting ready with his groomsmen at an amazing house. The anticipation was building for their first look, which took place at Instituto Allende, a historic building from 1735 with the most stunning colonial architecture. When Sam saw Estefania, he couldn’t help but shed a few happy tears. They even took a moment to read their vows privately, and it was pure magic.

The Ceremony: Tradition and History

The ceremony was held at the San Francisco Church, one of the most iconic temples in town. It’s a stunning piece of history, taking 20 years to build and completed in 1799. The traditional Catholic ceremony was beautiful and emotional, a perfect reflection of the couple’s love.

Afterward, we headed back to Instituto Allende, where the reception was set up to perfection by Penzi Weddings. Seriously, if you’re considering having your wedding in SMA, they are the team to call. The guests enjoyed cocktails while a mariachi band serenaded them, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening.

The Reception: Party Time!

The reception kicked off with the traditional father-daughter and mother-son dances, followed by Estefania and Sam’s first dance as husband and wife. With a live band and a dance floor packed with energy, the party was in full swing. It was one of those nights where time just flies by, and you find yourself wishing it would never end, a night to remember, indeed!
