Do you really need a second shooter for your weddi Do you really need a second shooter for your wedding?

As a destination wedding photographer, my honest answer always is: it depends. It’s not always a necessity, but here are 3 scenarios where a second pair of eyes will completely save your day:

1️⃣ A Big Resort: If you’re getting ready on opposite sides of a massive luxury resort or in different boutique hotels, a solo photographer physically can’t be in two places at once.

2️⃣ Multi-tasking at Sunset: While we sneak away for your intimate sunset portraits on the beach, a second shooter stays back to capture your cocktail hour and untouched reception decor.

3️⃣ Guest Counts Over 80–100: You and your inner circle are always my main focus. A second shooter allows us to capture different angles of the ceremony and the raw reactions of the rest of your guests at the exact same time.

Want to find out if your wedding lands in the "sweet spot" for a solo photographer?

Can't get enough of this wedding! San Miguel de Al Can't get enough of this wedding! San Miguel de Allende is always a great idea 👌🏼
I still can’t get over Geneviève & Pierre’s weddin I still can’t get over Geneviève & Pierre’s wedding at @casatressoles in Punta Mita. They came all the way from Montreal and literally only invited 6 people (4 of them were their kids!).

To be honest, it was a super cool challenge for me because the whole wedding was in French and I don’t speak a word of it! But honestly? You didn't need to. The happy tears, the laughs, and the expressions said absolutely everything. That’s exactly why I’m obsessed with intimate weddings, the energy is just so real.

After the ceremony, we took a golf cart to the beach next to the property and hit the jackpot: the sunset was unreal and the beach was completely empty just for us.

Oh, and just because it was an 8-person wedding didn't mean there was no party. After a crazy fire show, everyone ended up changing into their bathing suits and jumping straight into the pool to end the night. It was the perfect ending.

The whole day was flawlessly planned by @thedazzlingdetails I just uploaded the full story and some of my favorite shots to the blog.

🌟 "Why do we need 8 hours of photography coverage 🌟 "Why do we need 8 hours of photography coverage if the reception is only 4 hours long?" 🌟

It’s one of the most common questions I get from couples planning their destination wedding! But before the music starts and the tequila flows, there is a whole universe of beautiful, emotional moments happening behind the scenes.

From morning mimosas with your girls to that quiet, nervous energy right before walking down the aisle, the story of your wedding day starts way before the party does. 🥂✨

To help you visualize how a perfect day flows, I just dropped a brand new blog post breaking down a realistic, stress-free 8-hour wedding timeline tailored specifically for Puerto Vallarta, Punta Mita, and Sayulita.

In this guide, I’m sharing:
⏱️ A realistic hour-by-hour blueprint
🌅 How the local sunset shifts throughout the year (and why it matters for your ceremony!)
📸 Why a 'First Look' is the ultimate timeline saver
👥 How the schedule changes if you have a solo photographer vs. a second shooter

Your wedding day shouldn't feel like a frantic rush. It should feel like a vacation and a natural celebration.

9 guests. 1 single table. A whole new chapter. 🥂 9 guests. 1 single table. A whole new chapter. 🥂

There is something about micro weddings that just hits different. Heidi & John decided to start their family journey at @casawirikuta surrounded only by their closest circle.

The most special touch? John’s oldest son officiated the ceremony. No rush, no stress, just genuine connection, great memories, and a perfect sunset in Punta Mita. 🌊✨

This is what luxury looks like when it’s focused on what really matters.
