A Dream Honeymoon Session on the Mexican Pacific

Today, I’m sharing one of my absolute favorite honeymoon sessions, photographed at the breathtaking One&Only Mandarina, a luxury resort nestled along the stunning Mexican Pacific coastline.

It all began when this beautiful couple hired me to photograph their wedding in Punta Mita (you can check out their wedding blog here). Right after we signed the contract, Mark sent me an email saying he had a surprise in mind, he wanted to plan a honeymoon session for Sami. Of course, I said yes in a heartbeat!

A Surprise at One&Only Mandarina

A couple of days after the wedding, I drove to the One&Only Mandarina to meet them. When I knocked on their villa door, Sami opened it and said, “Wait… what are you doing here?” She had no idea the session was happening,  it was a total surprise from Mark, and her reaction was priceless!

The resort itself was the perfect backdrop: tropical, luxurious, and effortlessly romantic.

Why One&Only Mandarina Is a Dream for a Honeymoon Session

Located between jungle and ocean, One&Only Mandarina offers one of the most magical backdrops for a honeymoon session. With private villas, sweeping views, and hidden beaches, it’s the kind of place that invites romance and spontaneity. Freedom, Sunset, and So Much Love

One of the best parts? They gave me total creative freedom. I photographed them around the resort, from their private villa with incredible views to the serene beach, just as the sun began to set.

We started in their room, where the light was soft and golden. Their connection was so natural and full of joy, you can see how in love they are in every frame. Then we hopped on a golf cart and headed to the beach just in time for that iconic Mandarina sunset.
