Kendall and Taylor’s wedding in Merida was everything a luxury destination wedding should be, elegant, emotional, and filled with unforgettable moments. From a rooftop welcome party overlooking the cathedral to a stunning hacienda ceremony, every part of their celebration was pure magic.
A Rooftop Welcome Party to Kick Off the Celebration
The day before the wedding, the couple hosted an intimate welcome party with their closest friends and family. Before the guests arrived, we took advantage of the gorgeous downtown Merida views for a quick pre-wedding photo session.
The venue, set in the heart of the city, had a rooftop with breathtaking views of the cathedral, making it the perfect spot for golden hour portraits. As the evening unfolded, heartfelt speeches brought the groom to tears, making for one of the most emotional moments of the weekend.
And just when the energy couldn’t get any better, a mariachi band arrived to close out the night in the best way possible. It was the perfect start to a wedding weekend!
The Wedding Day: A Perfect Mix of Elegance & Emotion
The wedding day started in two completely different ways, one quiet and reflective, the other filled with excitement.
Taylor chose to get ready alone, taking a peaceful moment to soak in everything that was about to happen.
Meanwhile, Kendall and her bridesmaids got ready in one of the hacienda’s stunning rooms, popping champagne and sharing laughter. When she put on her dress, she looked absolutely breathtaking, like she had stepped straight out of a bridal editorial.
An Emotional First Look
The first look was, hands down, one of the most emotional moments of the day.
Taylor stood waiting, his anticipation building, and the second Kendall approached from behind, he couldn’t hold back the tears. The raw emotion in that moment was everything.
This is exactly why I love first looks, not only do they create incredible photo opportunities, but they also give couples a private moment to connect before the ceremony.
Afterward, we explored the hacienda grounds for portraits, and I have to say, this venue made it almost too easy. Every corner was a dream to photograph!

The ceremony took place in a tiny historic chapel inside the hacienda. Because of its size, only their closest friends and family could be inside, while the rest of the guests gathered outside. This setup made the ceremony feel intimate and deeply personal, even with a larger guest list.
The moment Kendall walked down the aisle, you could feel the emotion in the air. Everything about the ceremony was heartfelt, romantic, and truly special.
A High-End Reception & an Epic Party
The reception was the definition of luxury and elegance, from the floral arrangements to the carefully curated details, everything was designed to perfection.
After an emotional first dance, the party kicked off, and let me tell you, this group knew how to celebrate! For a destination wedding, they had a big guest list, which isn’t always common, but it made the party even more unforgettable.
The dance floor was packed all night, and the energy was absolutely electric. One of the most fun receptions I’ve ever captured!
