Luxury Micro Wedding at Casa Wirikuta

Today I’m excited to share this beautiful intimate wedding. It all happened in Punta Mita at Casa Wirikuta, which is honestly one of the most amazing properties in the area.

A 9-Guest Micro Wedding

This was a true micro wedding with only nine guests. Since Heidi and John already have children, most of the guest list was their own family. It felt like the perfect way to officially start their journey together.

There’s something about intimate weddings that just feels different. Everything is calmer, and you can actually feel the connection between everyone present.

Getting Ready at Casa Wirikuta

The day started with Heidi getting ready with her daughter and sister. They used a suite that feels like a private spa—it’s incredible. The hair and makeup were done by Jenn Chivers, who is hands down the best in the business. Heidi chose a very light, effortless dress that looked stunning in that tropical setting.

Meanwhile, John kept things casual with his sons in the basement of the house, doing a little tequila tasting and playing some shuffleboard before the ceremony.

Personal Moments & Golden Hour

The ceremony was held in the garden overlooking the ocean. A really cool, personal touch was that John’s oldest son officiated, which made it way more meaningful than a standard ceremony. They had a string trio playing, and having the sound of the ocean in the background made it feel just right.

Right after the ceremony, we hit the garden for portraits during sunset. The golden light in Punta Mita never disappoints, and since it was such a small group, the couple was totally relaxed. It was very easy to capture the genuine connection they have.

Dinner and a Grand Finale

After cocktails, everyone sat at one single long table. I loved that they still did a “grand entrance”—even with a small group, it’s a great way to kick off the party! Dinner was filled with some really great speeches, and they ended the night with fireworks over the ocean.

The Team

This wedding was planned by The Dazzling Details. They did an incredible job with the timing and the overall setup—everything looked flawless.

I’ve always said that intimate weddings are my favorites. There’s an authentic vibe you only get with small groups, and as a photographer, those are the stories I love to tell.
