A Dream New York Wedding Begins
There is something undeniably magical about a New York Wedding, and Gina and Evan’s day at The Bordone LIC was the perfect example of it.
When Gina first reached out to me, she told me how special they envisioned their big day. She shared her ideas with so much excitement that I instantly knew this was going to be an unforgettable celebration. As a destination wedding photographer, I get to witness so many love stories, but there was something about their energy from the very beginning that felt different, heartfelt, intentional, and deeply connected. And oh, did their wedding deliver.
Getting Ready at The Bordone LIC
Everything took place at the beautiful The Bordone LIC, one of the most stunning venues for a New York Wedding with skyline views.
Gina arrived almost ready, her hair and makeup were already done. She only had one last detail left: stepping into her dress. Surrounded by her sister, mom, and bridesmaids, the moment she put it on felt electric. She looked absolutely stunning, elegant, radiant, glowing with happiness.
Meanwhile, upstairs, Evan was getting ready with his groomsmen. There’s always something special about those parallel moments before a wedding ceremony, two separate rooms, the same anticipation.
A Rooftop First Look with Manhattan Views
If you’re dreaming of a New York Wedding with iconic scenery, this is your sign.
Gina and Evan chose to have their first look on the terrace overlooking the Manhattan skyline. And I have to say, what a backdrop.
Their first look was intimate, emotional, and beautifully raw. They both shed a few happy tears. It was one of the highlights of the day. When couples are so deeply connected, you can feel it immediately, the way they look at each other. It makes my job effortless and incredibly meaningful.
Afterward, we took full advantage of the rooftop terrace for their couple’s portraits. The bridal party joined us shortly after, followed by family portraits, all framed by that breathtaking skyline.
It was an overcast day, but we were lucky enough to get soft bursts of sunshine breaking through the clouds. Honestly? The perfect light for a New York Wedding.
An Emotional Ceremony Overlooking the City
The ceremony took place on another terrace at The Bordone LIC, again featuring the stunning Manhattan skyline.
There is something powerful about exchanging vows high above the city, surrounded by skyline views and the people you love most.
When Gina and Evan read their vows, they could barely hold back the tears. And neither could their guests. The entire terrace was wrapped in emotion. It was heartfelt, sincere, and incredibly moving, the kind of ceremony that reminds you what weddings are truly about.
This is exactly why a New York Wedding feels so iconic: romance and architecture blending into one unforgettable moment.
Sunset Portraits & Rooftop Romance
Cocktail hour took place on the venue’s top floor, complete with signature drinks and live music. The atmosphere was vibrant yet elegant, the perfect transition into the evening.
As the sun began to set, the sky transformed into that dreamy blue hour light, you know, that soft glow right before it gets dark. It’s my favorite time for portraits. So of course, we snuck out for a few more photos.
With the city lights beginning to sparkle behind them, Gina and Evan shared the most romantic moments. The skyline, the soft evening light, the quiet pause before the party, it was cinematic perfection.
If you’re planning a New York Wedding, never skip blue hour portraits. Trust me.
A Reception Full of Energy and Joy
Their reception was the perfect celebration to end an already incredible day.
They opened the dance floor with a choreographed first dance that completely wowed their guests. It was confident, fun, and the absolute best way to kick off the party. Within seconds, everyone joined them on the dance floor, and the energy never slowed down.
Dinner featured an Italian and Mediterranean buffet (yes, it was as delicious as it sounds), followed by heartfelt speeches that had everyone laughing and tearing up all over again.
From there? Nonstop dancing. Pure joy. The kind of celebration that reminds you why a New York Wedding is truly one of a kind.
