A Perfect Destination Wedding in Mexico
Some weddings feel magical from the moment they begin, and Anne and Greg’s St Regis Punta Mita wedding was exactly that.
I always love to meet my couples before the big day. It helps break the ice and makes everyone more comfortable, so when the wedding day arrives, we’re not strangers. But sometimes, busy schedules don’t allow it. In Anne and Greg’s case, we only exchanged emails beforehand, so at first, I wasn’t sure how the day would unfold. But from the moment I arrived, they made sure I felt completely welcome!
Getting Ready: Champagne & Laid Back Vibes
I started the day by capturing the stunning surroundings of the St Regis Punta Mita. Since it was my first time at this beautiful hotel, I wanted to explore its best photography spots before heading to the bride’s suite.
Anne’s getting ready process was as relaxed as it gets. Her hair and makeup were done by a friend, which meant she was surrounded only by familiar faces, talk about a stress free start to the day! To set the mood, she popped open a bottle of champagne and soaked in every moment. When she finally stepped into her dress, she looked absolutely breathtaking!
Then, I headed over to Greg’s room, where he got ready with the help of his dad. Unlike Anne’s slow, relaxed morning, Greg’s prep took no more than 10 minutes, a quick suit-up, a few finishing touches, and he was all set!
A First Look Filled with Emotion
Their first look took place in the lush hotel gardens, just steps from Anne’s suite, perfect for keeping things easy and intimate. As soon as they saw each other, emotions ran high. It was a beautiful, private moment just between the two of them before the day’s festivities officially began.
Afterward, we stayed in the gardens for family portraits, capturing all the love and excitement before heading to the ceremony.
A Sunset Ceremony on the Beach
The ceremony took place right on the beach, as Anne and Greg exchanged vows, the Sun was setting, and the lightning couldn’t be better, one of those moments you wish you could freeze in time.
Their St. Regis Punta de Mita wedding ceremony was short and sweet, but filled with meaning. They shared their own vows, exchanged rings, and of course, the kiss while their guests cheered them on.
Golden Hour Portraits & A Sunset Walk on the Beach
As soon as the ceremony ended, we took advantage of the golden hour for some romantic beach portraits. The beaches in Punta de Mita are something else, soft sand, crashing waves, and the most incredible light.
We walked along the shore, capturing candid moments, before heading to a nearby golf course for some truly epic shots. Anne and Greg were up for anything, making the session even more fun!
A Reception Full of Love, Energy & Dancing
By the time we returned, the cocktail hour was in full swing. Guests were congratulating the newlyweds, while I took some time to photograph the beautifully designed reception space before everyone sat down.
Once dinner and speeches wrapped up, it was time for the first dance, and let me tell you, these two were glowing! With all eyes on them, they swayed to their song, completely in the moment. It was the perfect way to kick off the party!
And what a party it was, not a single guest stayed seated. Everyone hit the dance floor, celebrating Anne and Greg in the best way possible. It was truly a night to remember!
A huge shoutout to Eventives for planning such an incredible wedding. Every detail was beautifully executed, and they made sure the day flowed seamlessly.
Anne and Greg, thank you for letting me capture your amazing day, it was nothing short of spectacular!
