A Wedding Day Between Two Countries
I’m so excited to share this vineyard wedding in Switzerland with you! Camille and Anders’ special day was a celebration that spanned two countries: France and Switzerland.
The couple started their day at their home in France, where they got ready surrounded by family. Then, they crossed the border to Gland, Switzerland, where they tied the knot in one of the most picturesque venues I’ve ever seen, a stunning vineyard with views of the Mont Blanc in the distance.
But before we jump into the wedding day itself, let’s rewind to the day before, when we had the chance to connect during a casual session.
A Rainy Icebreaker Session
Since Camille and Anders and I had only met online before their wedding, I suggested we meet in person for a casual session the day before. It was an opportunity to break the ice and get comfortable, which made all the difference for the wedding day.
I visited them at their home, and we spent the day wandering around some incredible places nearby. Even though heavy rain interrupted us and had us running for cover, it turned into a fun and memorable experience.
The Wedding Morning in France
The wedding day began in the relaxed comfort of Camille and Anders’ home in France. The couple kept things easy and calm, surrounded by their family, who helped with all the preparations.
It was the perfect way to start such an important day, filled with love, laughter, and the excitement of what was to come.
A Simple and Intimate Civil Ceremony
The next stop was the civil office in Aubonne for the official ceremony. The setting was simple but elegant, and the couple tied the knot surrounded by their closest family members.
The civil ceremony was short and sweet, with all the formalities that mark the beginning of a marriage. It was an intimate and meaningful moment that set the tone for the rest of the day.
A Beautiful Vineyard Wedding at La Capitaine
After the civil ceremony, everyone moved to the main venue: Domaine La Capitaine, an extraordinary vineyard in Gland, Switzerland.
The laic ceremony took place under a massive tree, creating a magical setting for Camille and Anders to exchange their personal vows. The views were breathtaking, with rolling vineyards all around and the Mont Blanc visible on the horizon.
This part of the day was much more emotional. Family members shared heartfelt words about the couple, and the atmosphere was filled with love and joy. It was a celebration to remember!
Cocktail Hour Among the Vines
What better setting for a cocktail hour than a vineyard? Guests enjoyed the relaxed vibe, sipping wine while taking in the stunning surroundings.
During this time, I snuck away with Camille and Anders for some golden hour portraits. The light was perfect, the couple looked incredible, and the vineyard provided a dream-like backdrop. These photos are some of my favorites, they capture the essence of the day beautifully.
Dinner, Speeches, and Traditions
After the cocktail hour, everyone gathered for dinner. The meal was accompanied by heartfelt speeches from family and friends, as well as a few traditions that added a personal touch to the evening. The warm and inviting atmosphere during dinner perfectly reflected the couple’s love and the joy shared by their guests.
Dancing the Night Away in a Wine Cave
Once dinner was over, it was time for the party! Guests moved into a charming wine cave, where the DJ was ready to get things started.
The couple’s first dance was the perfect opening to an incredible night of dancing and celebration. Everyone had an amazing time, making it a night that no one will forget.
Why This Wedding is One of My Favorites
As and International wedding photographer, I’ve photographed so many beautiful weddings, but this one holds a special place in my heart. Maybe it was the amazing couple, the stunning vineyard, or the incredible energy from the guests. Perhaps it was the perfect team of vendors who brought everything together seamlessly.
Whatever the reason, this wedding is one of my all-time favorites. I hope I’ll have the chance to return to Switzerland soon, it’s truly a magical place!
